Andy and Richard first developed their professional relationship when they met as foreman on “Streamside” at Millbrook in 2007. Their mutual commitment to best practice, quality and workmanship was the foundation for their new joint partnership, Bamford McLeod Construction Ltd. In 2011, they further cemented this partnership by joining the Master Builders Association and undergoing the Licensed Building Practioner Scheme.

Since then they have specialised in constructing high end residential properties throughout the Wakatipu Basin, working with renowned architects such as Mason and Wales, Mark Scaife, Steve Henderson and Sarah Scott. With a growing team, Bamford McLeod is confident they have the best staff and the right experience for a successful completion every time.

Richard Bamford, Director

Richard is a quailfied builder with 30 years experience in the trade, starting out as an apprentice in 1991 in Balclutha. After gaining his qualifications, Richard travelled overseas where he worked as a carpenter throughout the UK and Australia.

Returning to Queenstown in 1999, Richard joined Naylor Love, where he was promoted to foreman a year later. In this role Richard was given the opportunity to broaden his skill base and worked on many different projects ranging from high end residential to large commercial sites. Work included the Mayo House at Lakeside Estate, Reidhaven at Millbrook and building seven at Remarkables Park.

After forming his own company in 2005, and building several residential properties throughout the area, Richard was asked by Naylor Love to contract back as foreman for "Streamside" at Millbrook in 2007. Since the succesful completion of that project Richard has been in partnership with Andy, as Bamford McLeod Construction.

Andrew McLeod, Director

Andrew (Andy) is a qualified builder, with 35 years trade experience, starting with his apprenticeship in 1987 with JS Borland in Invercargill. After completing his apprenticeship and working for a further five years in Southland, Andy travelled to the UK where he lived and worked for 10 years and formed his own building company.

Arriving back in Queenstown in 2006, Andy began work with Naylor Love and was a foreman within a year. In this capacity he led projects such as Arrowtown Museum extentions and renovations, Remarkables Park building 12, Alpine Aqualand and then Streamside at Millbrook in 2007. Since the succesful completion of that project Andy has been in partnership with Richard, as Bamford McLeod Construction.
